An evening of hope and resilience
St George's Theatre in Great Yarmouth hosted a special performance of 'Matt: Expanding The Conversation' created by Peter Dewar and Reflect Productions GY on Wednesday 30th September.
After the success of the debut 'Matt' performance at St George's Theatre, the play is now in it's third year of touring with help from Arts Council England and it continues to ask questions about mental health provision and the importance of hope and healing.
'Matt' was written and directed by Peter Dewar to help shine a light on his struggles with depression and addiction but most importantly, finding his way back with the help of loved ones and professionals.

The performance was a resounding success with theatre goers describing the event as 'hard hitting, but joyful' with all expressing their love and admiration for the production and the conversations it has started. Sir Stephen Fry has also shown his support for the show via a promotional video.
Matt himself said "It's worth it, life is worth it", a sentiment we can all agree with.
As someone who struggles with mental health issues and lost a friend this year due to their mental health, I urge you to speak up if you are struggling, it can make a world of difference.

The tour continues with upcoming performances in Boston, Cambridge and Colchester, please be aware that the show is 18+ due to mature themes. The play is also available as a book and as a TV show.
