Highlights of the 2025 Out There Festival

Great Yarmouth was transformed last week by the Out There festival, with lots of free acts, bright colours and shows everywhere, it was a treat to behold. I attended on Friday and Saturday evening, here are some of my highlights...

Underclouds Cie- INERTIE

This act was absoloutely mesmerising, we spent about twenty minutes watching the tighrope walkers navigate a stranded spinning top. They made it look so easy (despite the fact it obviously wasn't) and I was fascinated by the ease with which they performed, really very beautiful.

Pif-Paf- Toast

This act was both wholesome and fun, it incorporated dance, music, freshly cooked pancakes, fresh coffee and story telling. We joined in and I tried my best to dance with rhythm (not my forte) to the live music alongside everyone else. Very enjoyable, would recommend.

Tiny Productions – Miniscule of Sound – “The World’s Smallest Nightclub”

We saw this on Friday but didn't have a chance to try so came back on the Saturday evening and I am glad we did. We joined the queue on the (tiny) red carpet whilst a (fabulously dressed) attendee handed out handmade fish on sticks (complete with floating material) for us to wave whilst waiting for entry. Once the bouncers had checked us, we were free to enter (after handing back the sticks). I loved the leopard printed fluffy walls (lovely texture) and the DJ was playing some great tunes and we had a boogie!

Flavour Bakehouse

This wasn't a performance, but one of the tastiest treats I have ever had. It was a curly cone coated in cinnamon sugar with ice cream and a few other additions, absolutely delicious.

Gorilla Circus – AIthentic

This was the last performance of the Saturday night for us and it was worth waiting until 9pm for! It was a terrifying/fascinating look into AI and what the future could hold for us. It included circus performance, technology, dance and other visual effects to create a immersive experience. I especially found the moving crane especially unnerving due to it looking both humanoid and out of this world.

It was wonderful to be able to walk ten minutes down the street and enjoy acts from all over the world. It felt almost like we were back at the Circus festival in Montreal back in 2022, Out There really outdid themselves this year.
